Short-sighted
…The view that one people is the “cause of evil” and that it’s enough to eliminate them to solve our problems is not only criminal but also foolish and short-sighted:
Alright… the Germans killed 6 million Jews and Romani people..
and what did they achieve?
The Jewish nation survived elsewhere…
and prospered and thrived.
And the Germans, they burdened themselves with a terrible stigma and immense guilt…
…that will follow them for centuries.
A stigma that makes other peoples view them with dislike and suspicion.
The same happened to the Turks:
What did they achieve by exterminating one and a half million Armenians and 350 thousand Pontians?
The Armenians and Pontians survived elsewhere as ethnic groups…But the stigma of barbarity and the complex will follow Turkey.
The same happened to the Americans with Vietnam and recently with Iraq, Libya, and Afghanistan:
They tried, supposedly, to impose democracy and freedom… on primitive and oppressive regimes…
..and all they achieved was to cause pain, death, and misery.
The Israelis are now falling into the same trap:
They want to punish a handful of extremists who commit crimes and try to achieve this by committing far greater crimes against civilians.
The only thing they will achieve is the creation of new extremists…who have lived their childhood in the horror of Gaza.
The two million wretched people now starving in Gaza, dragging their existence through rubble and ruins, these are the ones who will create the new generations of extremists.
Their children will form the new ISIS and a new Hamas that will be far worse than the current one.
ISIS emerged and was staffed by humiliated officers of Saddam.
None of them became democrats.
None of them dream of Western democracy with sham elections, half-naked gays, and drunken binges with bourbon and coke.
The simplistic Americans, with their characteristic arrogance, think their political and social model is wonderful, unbeatable, and that everyone desires and envies it.
Nonsense.
They showed no respect for the culture, religion, history, and sensitivities of other peoples.
The Persians have 3,000 years of history, and the Americans 250.
The former have proven their resilience…
..while the latter still have a long way to go to prove theirs.
